USGS National Map
Created and Maintained by the USGS. This site provides a link to national geospatial datasets throught the entire US. Data scales will range from local - national based on availability.
Some of the data collected in the Sacramento Region will be posted here in the near future as well as the CalAtlas site above.

Offers free data for various Canadian resources. There are some good Landsat images here too.
AVIRIS - Airborne Visible/Infrared Imaging Spectrometer
NASA's World Wind
AVIRIS Hyperspectral data available for free at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Obtain free AVIRIS Data for a few small areas.
NASA has a Google Earth-like application called World Wind. The data behind this application contains, Landsat 7, MODIS, RADAR, Hyperspectral, weather, etc. There are also globes of the Moon, Mars, and Venus.
This application will require a recent computer and the Microsoft .NET 2.0 Framework to be installed.
