Using the Google Map API

If you want to add google maps to your website, then you will need and API.  Go to Google Maps API to get your own key to use on  your site as well as documentation and blog for up-to-date information.  Many of the examples that implement the Google API is written in JavaScript.

Google Geocoder

I have updated the Geocoder routine on this page (see below).  A user can click on the map to get a lat/long or can type in an address, airport, or airport code that will then zoom and center on that address.  This may not work for addresses outside the US.

I am continuing to expand the GPS Google Map.  Check out Links/GPS.

Update07.02.06

Below is a map that is using the free Google Maps API with some modifications based on code I wrote.  The markers show places that I currently work and teach.  Click on the markers to see the name of the campus.  I will continue to add to this as I become more familiar with the code.

Type in an address such as:

1000 I St, Sacramento, CA
